Panoramas “Mini ” the solution

Thinking outside the square "mini panoramas"

Hello Everyone, it’s been an interesting couple of weeks at Peter Franz Photography and I haven’t even had a chance to get out and about with the camera. I have been tossing around the idea of a new product to sell on line and in the Gallery. What I came up with was the creation of miniature panoramas printed on “Canson MuseumArt Canvas’ a beautiful 340gsm quality canvas, the same canvas that I use for all of my canvas printing.

The miniature panoramas needed to look great, not just in the print department but in the overall appearance and also they needed to be light weight. The other consideration was how to hang them, I had been pondering this for some time thinking of a variety of methods, but none seemed to fit the bill.

It was by chance that I was talking to a visitor in the Gallery and I happened to mention this new product range. I went into my office and brought out the 2 samples that I had been working with, both were of the Finders Ranges  in South Australia. A couple of really spectacular panoramas, ( as with all of the images at Peter Franz Photography) .

Well to my surprise she was attracted to one of the “MINIPANS ‘

as I named them. We spent a few minutes talking about where the image had been shot, and the story of how I managed to be in the right place at the right time .

I was then asked how much was this is selling for, I said when it’s completed $60-00 dollars.

Even though they are miniature panoramas  ( MINIPANS as I call them ) they are a good size 60cm x 20cm . I could tell there was a little bit of hesitation there, so I continued the discussion explaining why they weren’t finished and that I was still looking for a solution. She then replied quick as a wink  “why not use velcro tabs” . To my delight there was the answer that I’d been pondering over for days.

And my response was “Well I tell you what, I think that solution is worth at least $10-00 dollars “ and you can have that “ MINIPAN “ for $50, and she did. She got what she wanted and I had the perfect solution to my problem.
