Aftermath

This image was taken around early January 2015, about one and a half weeks the horrific fires in South Australia. It was called the “ Sampson Flat Fire “ due to this being the area where it started and rapidly spread to other areas. What I tried to capture that evening was the sun setting on a stark, sombre landscape totally devoid of any living vegetation. This image shows the extreme severity of the fire that swept through this area. As i was standing there surveying the scene and how best to capture it . My thoughts went back to the fire fighters that risked their lives trying to contain it .
