Photography workshop learning to see

PHOTOGRAPHY  WORKSHOP.

With a Photography workshop we provide the necessary knowledge to create stunning images. I have been running personalised DSLR camera training for a number of years now. What I am hearing from most of my clients is that "My photos never look like that." This prompted me to look further  into providing photography workshops  to my clients, Yes a number of clients needed to learn and understand the basics of using a DSLR and learning what features to use and how to use them. Others were more advanced having a good grasp and understanding of the principles of using a DSLR. but I was still getting the same response."My photos never look like that.".
It certainly wasn't their equipment, or  knowledge of the functions and how to use them .  SO WHAT WAS LACKING ? So after many lengthly discussions with my partner in Peter Franz Photography  ( my wife the boss in certain things) It was during one of these  lively and sometimes heated discussion that my wife uttered these words. " WELL YOU'VE GOT THE EYE". Thinking back now, the hours chatting with prospective clients in the gallery when those exact words would crop up, with me not ever thinking much about them.

When you look back into the history of photography, not just landscape but all genres of it there have been some outstanding photos produced, and most of them with cameras that we wouldn't give a second glance at compared to today's technology. So it makes me wonder at times whether we've  lost something? We have made fantastic advances with technology,

But what has happened to our creativity

We have been so consumed at times with having the best equipment that we can afford hoping this would be the answer to capturing a fantastic photo. Of course at times we do get one, but is this due to our creative input or just plain luck ( mind you we all need a bit of luck at times). For most of us it's luck being in the right place at the right time. But by taking a photography workshop it will greatly improve your keeper rate and slowly develop those skills of good composition to the point where the become second nature.

One of the most important features of any camera, whether medium digital format, DSLR or a point and shoot it is the PERSON BEHIND IT. One of my favourite quotes from Ansel Adams is

“The single most important component of a camera is the twelve inches behind it! ― Ansel Adams  Something most of us have forgotten in the age of digital photography where everything has become  quick and easy.

So with my photography workshop the focus is placed  on learning how to see. Looking at the scene in front of us and using the various elements presented to us to create a strong and compelling image. Learn how to be creative, take control of the shot and don't think the camera will do it all for you.
So come and join us in one of our one day FULL on workshops and learn how to see as I say "ITS NOT THE EQUIPMENT IT'S HOW YOU SEE"
