Gumtree and sheep

Description

Nothing like the shade of a gumtree on a hot day.

The gumtree with the sheep under it is just such a typical scene in the Australian rural landscape. Especially on a hot summer's day, with the dry parched soil. Not difficult to find a mob of sheep, sheltering under a large gum tree for any shade they can get. I love the simplicity of this composition, hence the treatment of having it partially in black and white. It's a style I have been developing for awhile now.  With some images it can be absolutely stunning.

As extra protection our canvases are coated with a water based urethan coating, that is none yellowing does not crack and is water proof. This provides a layer of protection from our normal living contaminates.
